36 weeks! I can't believe we are at this point. Today Marcus will give me my last progesterone injection. How time flies! The other day I was reflecting on all we've been through in this pregnancy.
It's amazing to think that we have had so many appointments and care given to keeping this baby safe, healthy, and IN for as long as possible.
I started my weekly progesterone shots at 16 weeks.
I started having cervical length ultrasounds approximately every 2-3 weeks from weeks 13 to 32.
At 27 weeks I was put on modified bedrest until 32 weeks and after that was told to "take it easy."
At weeks 27 and 34 I did the fetal fibronectin test that would predict if I would go into labor in the next two weeks (it said I wouldn't...and I didn't). :)
Around 28 weeks I added magnesium to my array of daily supplements to help stop the round ligament pain and contractions/cramping.
At 34 weeks, though my midwife said my cervix was still "posterior," we stopped checking for length because I was dilated about 1-2cm.
At 35 weeks I found out I am Group B Strep positive, which totally bummed me out, but what can you do? I may retest, depending on how much longer I'm pregnant.
At 36 weeks I am just getting over a bad sinus infection and a pinched nerve in my back that has made it difficult to walk. I hope both of things fully resolve before labor begins. I am having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions pretty much every time I'm up and about. Everything is more or less ready for Baby to make an entrance...I have a few minor things to do (print off copies of my birth preferences/plan, hang a picture or two, etc.).
Burkley and I have picked out his shirt and fabric for me to make him a Big Brother shirt, but I still need to complete that project. Other than that, I'm trying to remain positive and lighthearted, but I admit that I am pretty uncomfortable (mostly do to the pinched nerve and my cold, though both have improved over the week) and my heartburn is just wretched. But, I'm still thankful we've made it this far and I know that every day this baby stays in reduces the likelihood of us being in the NICU.
I am so thankful for the prayer that has surrounded me and Baby C in this pregnancy. My church family has been a huge support and my small group in particular has been wonderful about praying for me. I'm pleased to say that the prayers have been answered as we are most likely at this point not having a preemie! :) Joy!!!
So....I suppose it's time for a poll! When do you think Baby C will come? Do you think the baby is a girl or boy? Beyond date and gender, I'm also super curious about how big this baby will be. Burkley was 6lbs, 4oz, when he came at 34 weeks, 5 days. We shall see! :)

You look fabulous! I will guess a girl on March 20, weight 8lbs 2oz. In any case, a blessing from God. Many prayers!!!
ReplyDeleteYou really do look great. This is what I love about pregnancy, all the exciting surprises! I am going to guess you have another boy on the way, March 15, a solid 9 pounder ;)
